To clear up some of your confusion...
The Speaker of the House is in charge of the House of Representatives. The Speaker is always the leader of the party with the most seats (currently the Republicans, until recently the Democrats). The Speaker has the power to preside over debate in the House, but usually doesn't do this, and instead members of their party will take it in turns to do the presiding.
As the Republicans are currently in charge, the current Speaker is a Republican called John Bohner. After the Speaker, the most important members of the House are the Majority Leader (currently a Republican) and Minority Leader (currently a Democrat). The Minority Leader is currently Nancy Pelosi, and she is the leader of the House Democrats. Until recently, John Boehner was the Minority Leader and Nancy Pelosi was the Speaker, but they swapped positions after the previous election. On the other hand, the Majority Leader, currently Eric Cantor, is not in charge of the House Republicans (that's the Speaker's job) but serves as their second-in-command.
If the President and Vice President both die, the Speaker of the House becomes President.
There is a presiding officer for each of the legislative houses. The speaker of the House is John Boehner. The presiding officer of the Senate is vice president Joe Biden.
The Presidential Line of Succession Act says that it's the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who is currently John Boehner (R). After him is the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Daniel Inouye (D). After those guys it starts going through the members of the White House Cabinet, starting with the Secretary of State (Hillary Clinton)
I dont know so somebody better answer it besides me :D

what are the speaker of the house in the 70's 80's 90's
Many people have political differences with the US House Speaker John Boehner. Boehner has basically conservative views. This is unpopular with Congress people, whether they are Democrats or "liberal" Republicans. He has many doubts, as example about the new national healthcare act called "Obamacare". For his stand against this law he has received criticism.
The current Speaker of the US House of Representatives. He is a member of the Republican Party and arguably Obama's biggest political opponent. John Boehner represents a district in western Ohio, which he was first elected to serve in 1990. He chaired the Education Comittee and later served as an assistant party leader. In 2006, after the Republicans lost control of the House, Boehner replaced Dennis Hastert as leader of the House Republicans. He served as Minority Leader for 4 years. After the Republicans won control of the House again in 2010, and Boehner was elected Speaker.

The most influential member of the Republican Party is John Boehner, the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
John Boehner
Following the line of succession from VP Joe Biden to Speaker of the House John Boehner, next is President pro tempore of the Senate Daniel Inouye.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives (John Boehner)
That depends. The party in power right now (2013) is the Democrats. Barack Obama is the leader of the Democrats. And as a result, the Republicans are the opposition party. Conversely, in 2000, George W. Bush got elected president. He was a Republican and thus, the leader of the Republican party. Because a Republican was president, it was now the Democrats who were the opposition party. So, the leader of the opposition is the man or woman who is considered to be in charge of the political party that is NOT in power.Sometimes, that extends to the senate or the house of representatives: whichever political party won the majority of the seats during the most recent election, the Speaker of the House is from that party; and the opposition is the leader of the minority party. In 2013, the Republicans are in charge in the House, so John Boehner (pronounced BAY-ner) is the Speaker. His opposition comes from the leader of the Democrats in the House, currently Nancy Pelosi. But in the Senate, it's a different story. The majority in the senate are the Democrats, led by Harry Reid. And the Republicans, led by Mitch McConnell, are the opposition party.
John Boehner
For the current 111th Congress (2009-2010), the Democrats control both the House of Representatives (255-178) and the Senate (57-41-2).
John Boehner became the speaker of the house after Democrats lost the house majority and Nancy Pilosi was stopped in the year 2011.
The speaker of the house... so if Barack Obama and Joe Biden die John Boehner becomes President
