There doesn't seem to be any specific name for the container that the deodorant is contained in. The only term similar would be a "stick" of deodorant.

because it then lets the deodorant stick to your body. Without it, the deodorant would just roll off your body like water. The side of sodium stearate which sticks to oils, stick onto your skin whilst the other side holds on to the deodorant itself.

No it's vice versa. Speed stick originally came out with the irish spring line of deodorant and then they create it's own line strictly for irish spring. sadly the speed stick version was 10 times better in my opinion.
