In general a physician has the ability to make a higher income than a physical therapist, however there are many oppurtunities for Physical Therapsits to own private practises and then own their own companies and employ other workers. This can lead to quite considerable incomes being made. Within some systems ie,Ontario Canada it is now OK for PT to owna corporation but ther are some limitations on the tax credit systems. If one is looking purely from a money making purspective than medicine is by far the safest bet.
