The answer to this question isn't really as cut and dry as we'd like it to be. In short, UGG boots are made by several different manufacturers around the world.
It's important to remember that UGGs were originally created in Australia and New Zealand and have been worn there for over 200 years. The term UGG was used to refer to a style of boot crafted out of Merino sheepskin wool and related terms have been used to describe the footwear for decades.
That is until the terms were trademarked in Australia and the trademark was, subsequently, sold to the Decker Outdoor Corporation. Decker then attempted to ban anyone and everyone from using the word "UGG" or anything related to describe their boots. Australian boot makers took the corporation to court and were able to prove that the word "UGG" has referred to a style of footwear for decades. The Australian Trademark Registry removed the word "UGG" and all related terms from its registry.
Despite losing the trademark battle in Australia, the Decker Outdoor Corporation does hold rights to the word "UGG" and all related terms in the United States, the UK, and in other parts of Europe.
You'll find that there are several different UGG boot manufacturers. Deckers Outdoor Corporation uses UGG Australia - although it's been rumored that they outsource their manufacturing to China.
