Iran is mostly Shiites who are deviated from the mainstream straight path of Islam; they visit the graves to perform some practice that invalidates the genuine creed of Islam such as asking the dead people to benefit them, help them or protect them etc. With regard to your question, it was the Khomeini who made the new regime on Iran in 1979. Thx.
Paramilitary organisations and factions. They later fell out and one (Pasdaran or Revolutionary Guards) became the Iranian regime and the other (People's Mojahedin) the new opposition.
The names of former revolutionaries like Mossadeq, Khomeini and Bazargan were brought up and that the paramilitaries were finished their work. The latter 2 were brought in to front for them. But held no true power.
Corrupt politicians also fronted for the new primarily military regime.
The answer you are looking for is AYATOLLAH RUHOLLAH KHOMEINI, but this is not entirely accurate. Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi abdicated the throne before being directly challenged by Khomeini. As for establishing the Islamic Republic, Khomeini was the principle architect behind that.
After Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi left on January 16, 1979, control of the government fell to his Prime Minister Shahpour Bakhtiar, who continued to rule until February 11, 1979. Iran was then ruled by an interim government headed by Mehdi Bazargan as Prime Minister until his resignation on November 6, 1979 in protest of the attack on the US Embassy (which he believed were brutish actions unbefitting of Iranians). With Bazargan's resignation, the Islamists led by Ruhollah Khomeini swept into power and began to rule the country. This was when Iran became an Islamic Republic.
US, Britain, and their western allies, under the disguise of an Islamic Revolution led by Ayatollah Khomeini.
ayatollah kamenei
1979 with the overthrow of the shah's government.
The shah of Iran
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was born in Iran. He went into exile on November 4, 1964 and came back on February 1, 1979, a few weeks after the Shah of Iran went into exile (on January 17, 1979).
Iran has not fallen. It's still here. The Shah fell in 1979.
The Shah is the king of Iran, although, the last Shah was overthrown in 1979 and sent into exile, he fled to Egypt where he died.
Shah
Persia, now Iran
Le Shah is a title of the former ruler of Iran, brought down by Ayatholla Khomeiny in 1979. Le Shah is "the Shah"
The ayatollah took over after shah of iran lost power.
It was the revolution in Iran in year 1979 against the reign of Shah Iran Reda Bahalwi. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic in Iran was established.
There is no longer a monarchy in Iran. In 1979 there was a revolution where the of Iran fled the country and Ayatollah Khomeini rose to power after his exile in Iraq/France. Iran is currently an Islamic Republic and does not have a king (Shah).
The last Shah of Iran was Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. A Shah is King and his reign began on September 16, 1941 and lasted until February 11, 1979. He was overthrown by the Iranian revolution.
