You have to look it up in a book like "2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms" or a similar book. There is a large section on Ivers Johnson firearms.

Iver Johnson started making firearms in 1870 as Johnson and Bye. I don't know exactly when they made their first 38 caliber gun, but at least as early as 1893, and they continued to manufacture .38 revolvers until they closed in 1978.
