Oxygen was the substance produced by the mint plant. Joseph Priestley enclosed a mint plant in a container, along with a burning candle. After the flame consumed all the oxygen, it went out. Despite the fact that the mint plant was in a closed container, after another 27 days had passed, Priestley was able to reignite the candle. This proved that plants produce oxygen, which is a gas that allows fuels to burn.
This can be proved by taking the example of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. In photosynthesis molecules of water and carbon dioxide are converted into glucose and oxygen. In respiration, glucose and oxygen react to form carbon dioxide and water.
Because he manged to predict it being there so he was proved right and proved a genius!
actually lately, lactic acid has been proved to release at the inadequate supply of oxygen that actually helps delay the tiredness of the muscle. if anything it helps your muscles last longer. theres an advantage :)
idk i think it waz named by gorgi longe Actually there were three people who were credited for it and they didn't invent it either, they just discovered the theory and proved it. Carl Scheele from Sweden Antoine Lavoisier from France, and John Priestly from England. Carl Scheele was the first to experiment with it, Priestly was the first to publish it (as "Dephlogisticated air") but Lavoisier was the first one to actually understand it (And name it Oxygen)
Pristley
He observed and proved that plants release the oxygen we need to breathe.
Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier proved it in France in the late 18th century. I'm not sure about any of the specific experiments he used to prove it, but you can go here if you want to read about one experiment at the link below:
by electrolysis, hydrogen and oygen ions were collected in different nodes
Sacajawea-
He was a British plant biochemist who, in 1939, demonstrated the 'Hill reaction' of photosynthesis. It proved that oxygen is evolving during the light requiring steps of photosynthesis. He also made significant contributions to the development of the Z-scheme of oxygenic photosynthesis.
you can proved by doing an experiment and comparing Gatorade with water or any other liquid.
There was an event commonly known as the "oxygen crisis" which occurred around 2.4 billion years ago. One theory suggests that this was caused due to the production of oxygen by micro organisms. In the early Earth this oxygen normally reacted with minerals in the surface rocks during weathering (creating very thick beds of oxidised rocks such as banded iron formations). However a point was reached where no more minerals were available to react with the oxygen and so it began to accumulate in the atmosphere. The increase in oxygen proved catastrophic for a large proportion of life at the time leading to the mass extinction event described earlier. For further information and to see some of the other theories as to the cause of the rapid increases in atmospheric oxygen concentration, please see the related link.
