Editing, sorting, and producing all of the film that is to be kept and used in a film or video production is a big job. After filming is completed, scrap film is usually thrown away or kept in an archive of somesort (physical or digital, depending on the type of film used). Then, it's up to both the director, storyboard writers, and the Director to finish the task. Using the remaining selected film, the this team puts the shots in order, overdubs any video or audio in post-production, edits and produces the final product.
The first unit is the main filming crew, which works with the lead actors and is directly controlled by the director. The second unit is typically smaller and films shots which do not involve the lead actors, such as establishing shots, stunt double shots, etc. Basically, all the little shots which don't require the direct involvement of the director. The second unit will have its own director, who reports to the movie's director.

Well, a great way to start is to have a good camera, and a tripod, and professional sound equipment. But if you're doing this cheeply; authentic sets, good actors, and a decent script are good places to start. Use close up shots and long shots while filming, and set up your scenes so viewers know where you are and what mood you're trying to give. You also need plenty of time to get all the filming and editting done.Use agood edittingprograme, preferably NOT moviemaker! Don'tusefancy transitionswhilst editting, and make sure the cuts are smooth and you have opening and closingcredits. Overall, just get some experience!

A scene can contain multiple shots. A shot is one isolated take.
I assume so, since the Force FX lightsabers are like replicas and they look exactly like the ones the actors used for the filming shots.

Filming is shot using 24 shots per second not all TVs are set up to covert those shots fluidly. Newer TVs allow for a "smoother" conversion of those shots but there has been some criticism on how home movie-ish appears. From what I am reading, smooth led TVs are really good for those that watch sports and action movies due to the fast pace. Hope that helps.
