Lee subdivided and reorganized his Army several times during the US Civil War and different officers were in command at different time during the war. For example the Table of Organization during the Seven Days Battle he had it divided into two unequal Wings with the five division Right Wing under the command of Major General James Longstreet and the lighter three division Left Wing under Major General Thomas J. Jackson. He also had a Cavalry Division under Major General J.E.B. Stuart under his direct control. The Division Commanders at that time in the Right Wing were: * Major General Richard H. Anderson * Brigadier General David Rumph Jones * Brigadier General Cadmus M. Wilcox * Brigadier General John B. Hood and * Brigadier General James L. Kemper. An independent Brigade was also a part of the Right Wing under the command of Brigadier General Nathan G. Evans. The Left Wing had divisions commanded by: * Brigadier General William B. Taliaferro * Major General Ambrose P. Hill and * Major General Richard S. Ewell. During the Seven Days Battle it should be noted that the Division called Hill's Light Division did not see combat, was actually the heaviest Division in the Army with six Brigades and an Artillery Regiment which effectively acted as the Army's Reserve and were stationed in defense of the Confederate capital. To check out who was in command the preferred method is to check out the Order of Battle for any listed battle of the war.
