Best Answer

Meals in a family home were served traditionally by the woman of the house. However, many meals were partaken as a unit, consisting of neighboring homes. Each home took a turn hosting the meals, while neighbors sat round that particular family's table. In times such as these, both the husband and the wife of the serving home, served the guests and themselves.

Did the pilgrims serve pie on Thanksgiving?

It is not likely that the pilgrims served pie on Thanksgiving, at least not at the first Thanksgiving. It's likely that they were out of the flour they brought with them and did not have the ingredients or a way to bake them at that time.
