The Declaration of Independence was written predominantly by Thomas Jefferson. although there were four other men on the committee: Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, and Robert Morris.Thomas Jefferson was NOT part of the Constitution committee; he was in France at the time.
