Islaam means peace. Allaah says that the only religion acceptable by him is the "Deen Islaam.
Adam was the first created and he believed and worship the "One True God" the creator of mankind. The last four prophets Daud, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them all) were given books for their follows. The same message was in all the books.
Allaah decided that he would not send no more prophets to earth so he sealed the message with the final messenger and protects the book. This book is Al Qur'aan.
Man cannot deny or comment or the Qur'aan until he/she has read it.

The present day day Islam is the continuation of the same religion that was preached by all the prophets before The last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAW)who started preaching Islam in 570 at the age of 40, at Makka, Saudi Arabia.
