Well, the country that I know uses direct democracy is Switzerland so yeah...
Generally a direct democracy uses citizens votes to determine every law whereas as a representative democracy has representatives elected to vote for the peoples interests.
Ancient Greece. As of yet, no countries adopt direct democracy although governments and academics are looking into it.
A direct democracy uses no higher power/authority and gives equal rights to all, it also allows citizens to be self governed.
Ancient Greece used Democracy which America now uses.
Another name for indirect democracy is representative/republican democracy. Indirect democracy uses representatives such as delegates, congressmen, and parliamentary ministers to convey and execute the will of the people.
The U.S. uses a representative democracy(we elect people to make our decisions) which is different than a true/direct democracy which is when EVERYONE votes on an issue.
Yes, Britain uses a form of representative democracy with a parliamentary system of government. This means that citizens elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf in Parliament.
America uses a variant of this, representative democracy, or a republic. The people elect others to make laws and decisions for them. This is less fair but quicker than Athenian democracy.
Direct and indirect democracy. There is Direct democracy, which is also called a pure democracy, that exists where the will of the people is translated into public policy (law) directly by the people themselves, in mass meetings. There is also Inderect democracy where a representative is chosen to represent a larger group of people. These select few represent the popular will of the people. ( This is the type of Democracy the US uses)
liberal democracy. Democracy altogether. socialist democracy. Democracy elite. A pluralist democracy.
