the pilgrims leave the Anglican church which is the church of England because he wanted a divorce and the Roman Catholics did not believe in divorce.
The Purtains landed in Mass and created a colony. They wanted a "pure" church of England without all of the gold, and other rites. So, they left for Mass where they would settle and make the type of life they wanted. They were in Mass and not really in any other colony.
They wanted a pure church and religious freedom.
The conflict between the Puritans and the Church of England was primarily due to differences in religious beliefs and practices. Puritans believed in a simpler, more pure form of worship that was not aligned with the elaborate rituals of the Church of England. They also sought to purify the church from what they perceived as remaining Roman Catholic influences. This tension ultimately led to the persecution and eventual migration of the Puritans to the New World.
Yes they wanted to go to the New World in hopes of keeping Catholocism pure. It wasn't new, in England at the time churches were being more leanient and Protestant and other churches were forming, the Puritans went to America to maintain the old and original pure, and according to them completely perfect religion & society.
The reason a "Puritan" was called a puritan is that they felt that the Anglican church didn't practice a pure religion. They wanted the inside of the church to be bare of decoration and the services to be very basic according to the bible.
Puritans came to America simply to make the church of England more "pure", hence their name.
The Puritans were English. The Puritan Church was formed in England as a response to the doctrine and rituals of the Church of England. The Puritans felt that the rituals and decorations within the church interfered with prayer and the connection to God. They wanted a "pure" church.
They wanted a "pure" church. They felt that the English churches were too much in decoration or rites. Because of their views they were discriminated against in England, so when given a chance to leave they did. This gave them the ability to live as they wanted. Their religion was a very strict one.
