∙ 13y agoI don't mean to be picky, but you have your names confused.. The Aeneid was Rome's epic poem, detailing the struggles of their national hero to eventually establish the city of Rome. The hero's name was Aeneas. So the "he" is Aeneas. The poem is the Aeneid.

∙ 10y agoAeneas was not a historical figure he was a legendary one. According to the legend, Aeneas who was a hero who survived the Trojan War with the help of two gods. He landed in Latium (the land of the Latins) and founded the Latin city of Lavinium. His son, Ascanius, founded the city of Alba Longa and its royal dynasty.
The twin brothers Romulus and Remus were said to have been the sons of Silvia Rhea, the daughter of a deposed king of Alba Longa. Romulus went on to found the city of Rome. The Romans fancied being descendants of the Trojans. The legend of Aeneas provided this line of descent and bridged the 400 year gap between the date of the Trojan War (12th century BC) and the date of the foundation of Rome (753 BC).
