Who is Ano the Egyptian princess?

Ano the Egyptian princess was the wife of King Jeroboam, and most likely the mother of his two sons: Abijam and King Nadab. She is probably the "wife of Jeroboam" mentioned In 1 Kings 14:1-17, "...at that time Abijam (or Abijah), the son of Jeroboam became sick. And Jeroboam said to his wife -(maybe Ano)-, "Please, arise and diguise yourself, that they may not recongize you as the wife of Jeroboam -(notice he never mentioned Queen of Israel, maybe because she was foreign)- and go to Shiloh. Indeed Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me I would be king over this people.....and he will tell you what will become of the child." Jeroboam's wife did so; ...and the Lord told Ahijah, "Here is the wife of Jeroboam, coming to ask you something about her son, for he is sick.....she will pretend to be another woman." and so it was Ahijah heard the sound of her footsteps as she came through the door and he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam. why do you pretend to be another person? For I have been sent to you with bad news.......arise and therefore go to your own house. When your feet enter the city, the child shall die. And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he is the only one of Jeroboam who shall come to the grave, because in him there was found something good toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam....."....Then Jeroboam's wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah. And when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died..." -The Holy Bible, I Kings 14:1-17. Pages 406-407, NKJV This wife of Jeroboam may be Ano, the Egyptian princess and the only known consort of Jeroboam as told from the Greek Bible.

What was king Solomon's failures?

Although God promised not to take the kingdom away from Solomon, He made life very difficult by raising up adversaries. The first one mentioned was Hadad. Who was he and what was his grudge? (1 Ki. 11:14-20) What recorded event spurred Hadad into action? (1 Ki. 11:21, 22) Who was the second adversary God raised up and what is said about him? (1 Ki. 11:23-25) Next came Jeroboam, who was he? (1 Ki. 11:26) What position did he hold in Solomon's court and why? (1 Ki. 11:27, 28) An event took place in Jeroboam's life that shaped his future. Please describe what happened according to 1 Ki. 11:29, 30. One can only imagine what Jeroboam was thinking as he watched his new cloak being torn into pieces. Why did Ahijah say he did that and what was Jeroboam to do? (1 Ki. 11:31)I Kings Lesson 7 3 Copyright Marci Ford, 2001 - 2003 But because of God's promise to David, what did God say He would still do for the House of David and why? (1 Ki. 11:32, 34-36) Once again the writer reminds us of why God said He was about to do this. Why? (1 Ki. 11:33) What else did God say to Jeroboam through Ahijah? (1 Ki. 11:37, 38) God said this was to "humble David's descendants … but not forever." How did King Solomon react to the news? (1 Ki. 11:40) The death of King Solomon is recorded in 1 Kings 11:41-43. How does it sum up his reign?

Who took over after Solomon?

The tribes of Israel were split after Solomon into a Northern kingdom (often called Samaria) and a Southern kingdom (often referred to as Judah). The split of the kingdom of Solomon is documented in 1 Kings 11 28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph. 29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field: 30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: 31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee: 32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:) 33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father. 34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes: 35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes. 36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.

Where is Solomon in The Bible?

Well a prophet is someone who God spoke to such as Moses, Gideon, David, and Elijah. And God spoke to Solomon so he is a prophet. A female prophet is a prophetess, Miriam the sister of Moses was the first prophetess. Deborah was also a prophetess. (Joshua is a prophet, if you put down 'WAS JOSHUA A PROPHET?' they will say no but Joshua is a prophet for God spoke to him. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph [the man with the colorful coat] are the four Patriarchs)

Why did Benjamin and Judah split off there tribes?

The Division A Punishment For Solomon's Apostasy The answer is found in 1 Kings 11:1-35. Because of Solomon's sin of idolatry, God gave the ten northern tribes to Jeroboam to rule and left Judah (and Benjamin... because they are closely related in the south) to Rehoboam, Solomon's son and the heir to the Davidic kingdom. Judah and Benjamin did not split off, the 10 northern tribes split off from the established kingdom in Jerusalem. Although the division of the Israelites was accomplished by means of the later foolishness of Rehoboam, it was actually decreed by God beforehand for the purpose of judgment on Solomon's sin: "And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:30And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.(1 Kings 11:29-35 KJV)The Kingdom's of Israel The United Kingdom of Israel lasted through the reigns of Saul, David and Solomon. After Solomon died, the kingdom split into two, the ten tribes (Reuben, Simeon, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Ephraim and Manasseh and Benjamin of "Israel" with their capital up in Samaria, and the tribes of Benjamin (main tribe) and Judah forming the kingdom of "Judah" with their capital at Jerusalem. Based on 1 Kings 12:23, there were probably members of some of the other 10 tribes that remained in the south with Benjamin and Judah when the northern tribes split off.

Who started the school of prophets in the Bible?

In Jewish tradition, there was a 'school of Eliyahu (Elijah) teaching' which was said to have ended a 2,000 period of spiritual 'tohu.' Some have dated this to the time of Abraham, circa 1925 BC.If by school you mean a gathering of those who prophesy, then you may consider 1 Samuel 10 and even 'advisors' in the Book of Daniel.Additionally:According to "Halley's Bible Handbook" (Classic Ed.; p.179, 'Prophets'):"...Samuel, it seems, was founder of a regular order of prophets, with schools, first at Ramah (I Samuel 19:20), and afterward, at Bethel, Jericho and Gilgal (II Kings 2:3, 5; 4:38). The priesthood had become quite degenerate and contemporaneous with the orgainzation of the Kingdom. Samuel, it seems, initiated these schools as a sort of moral check on both priests and kings. These Prophets functioned through a period of some 300 years before the Prophets who wrote the closing 17 books of the Old Testament. They are called "Oral" Prophets, to distinguish them from the "Literary" Prophets who wrote the books. The leading "Oral" Prophets were: Samuel, organizer of the Kingdom; Nathan, adviser to David; Ahijah, adviser to Jeroboam; Elijah and Elisha, who led the grand fight against Baalism."
