George "Bud" Day was a U.S. Air Force colonel and pilot who served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five years and seven months. Bud Day received both the Medal of Honor and the Air Force Cross. Currently he is the only person to be awarded both medals.
