Genesis 17:19-21New International Version (NIV)

19 Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac.[a] I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."

Where in the Holy Bible did the Muslims come from?

I think it had to do with one of Abrahams sons... He sinned so his seed would create a nation that would go against God... THus the Muslims are here..Answer:"Muslim" [or "Moslem"] isn't in the Bible. A Muslim is merely an adherent of the relatively recent [5th century] religion of "Islam."The religion of Islam, however [also not in the Bible], was the result of the literary workings of a descendant of the firstborn son of Abraham, "Ishmael"... who was born to Abraham through his wife, [Sarai] Sarah's, Egyptian handmaid, Hagar [Gen.16:1].Ishmael became the father of the Arab people."...he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." (Gen.16;12)Many people besides Arabs have willingly adopted the religion of Islam over the succeeding centuries or had it forced upon them... but all who adhere to the religion are called "Muslims" or "Moslems."So, although, Muslim isn't in the Bible... the original people to profess and promote the religion of Islam... the original "Muslims"... were Ishmael's children -- children of Abraham [who is in the Bible].

Why Muslim claim that the Bible now is not the original?

The Bible traces the blessings of God to Abraham through "Isaac"... not "Ishmael." The Ishmaelites were slighted, as it were, being the actual "firstborn" of Abraham... yet, "cast out" as they were. It's their contention, therefore, that God's blessings belong to the descendants of Ishmael... not Isaac. This is the cause of the festering animosity of Arabs toward Israel, today. The Bible, therefore, isn't beneficial to their connection to the blessings of God. Its bias is definitely in Israel's favor... so the latter writings of the Q'ran became the word of God to the descendants of Ishmael, and the Bible became the "erroneous writings" of the Jews, which they feel the Q'ran has corrected in their eyes.

Is Ishmael in Moby-Dick the sames as the Bible?

No, Ishmael in "Moby-Dick" is not the same character as Ishmael in the Bible. In the novel, Ishmael is a sailor who serves as the narrator and protagonist, while in the Bible, Ishmael is a figure who appears as the son of Abraham and Hagar. The naming of the character in "Moby-Dick" may be an intentional reference to the biblical figure, but they are not the same.
