Best Answer

Pompeii was a city. The city was near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania.

If you mean Pompey, he was a famous general, among his contributions was the clearing out of the pirates, the victories in the east, and being elected consul. He was a member of the first triumvirate with Caesar and Crassus and eventually lost the civil war between himself and Caesar. He was at one time Caesar's son-in-law and was treacherously murdered by the Egyptians.

Where to visit in ancient Rome to learn and see the language?

I Am not sure I understand your question. The ruins of Ancient Rome are in Rome and the language spoken in Italy is Italian. If you want to learn it there are many ways to do so. If you go to Pompei you can see ancient graffiti from 79AD, but there is no longer ancient Latin spoken as it was 2000 years ago.
