He allied with Italy under the leadership Of Benito Mussolini and Japan under the control of Prime Minister Tojo, among others.
He began annexing neighboring countries claiming that they were traditionally part of Germany because they were mainly of the Arian race.
The world did not want to go to war so they appeased him and did not retaliate.
It all came apart with the invasion of Poland.
And away we (England and her Allies) went to war in 1939. The USA did not join up until December 8 1941
