Harriet Tubman was a abolitionist who escaped from slavery and became a conductor to the underground railroad.
An example of freedmen are former African American slaves in the United States who were emancipated after the Civil War through the Emancipation Proclamation or the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

she didn't end slavery but when she got her freedom she came back to the south and rescued over 400 slaves Harriet got her freedom by following the clues to the underground railroad and when she got there she went into a house with blue shutters and lights on at night the people in that house quartered Harriet and the people helped her get through the guards until she saw a sign that gave Harriet Tumban her freedom.
I don't Know btshes
She led people from the south to freedom in the north. She also was suppose to be at Harper's Ferry with John Brown but got sick. Later, in her life she wrote a book, gave speeches, had a agency to help people who moved from the rural areas to the city. This was mainly to help displaced Blacks. She was always looking for money and always broke since everything she earned went to help people.
Harriet Tubman was called Moses because she led people to freedom and out of slavery in groups and using the Underground Railroad and some of the white people put up quilts to signify it's a safe home and they can stay there even if they're running away from slavery and she never got caught and after she escaped went back and back and back again!! She saved so many people however some people were ill and left her and others wanted to go on their own and got caught most of the time too!!
Harriet took her mom's name which was Harriet. Her mom's last name was Greene before she married Benjamin Ross.
