Rebekah was married to Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham did not want his son to marry a Canaanite and so he sent his servant back to Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor to pick out a wife from Abraham's family. The girl that was chosen (by God's choice) was Rebekah. She was Isaac's cousin, and she was brought back to Canaan to marry Isaac. About 19 years later Rebekah conceived and had twins. Esau and Jacob (Genesis 24:1-66; 25:24-34). These three men, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are the Patriarch's of the Hebrew people.

Rebecca was the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau in the Old Testament. She played a pivotal role in the story of the patriarchs, including helping Jacob receive his father's blessing by deceiving Isaac.

The origin of the name "Rebecca", is Hebrew, and it means "to tie, bind, trap, or snare", in Hebrew, French, and English.

Let me know if you'd like any more info, on "Rebecca", which happens to also be an Alfred Hitchcock, movie/thriller. :)
