Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] and his Lady [b. c. 1015] were responsible for the death of King Duncan I [d. August 14, 1040] of Scotland. Lady Macbeth was responsible for having planned the details of the murder plot. She also was an accessory in drugging the two royal guards, and in planting the murder weapons in the bloodied crime scene. Macbeth was responsible for having carried out the fatal stabbings of the three murder victims.

According to the Shakespearean play, King Duncan I [d. August 14, 1040] died during an overnight stay with the Macbeths at Inverness Castle. It wasn't an accidental death, or death from natural causes. In fact, he was stabbed to death by his beneficiary, cousin, general, host and subject, Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057]. According to the historical record, King Duncan indeed may have died from many cutting wounds. But the wounds were from swords wielded by his own men. The King's own men killed him for having launched an unprovoked, unpopular, unjustified, unjust invasion of Macbeth's lands.
