Best Answer

The 33rd President of the United States was Harry S. Truman from April 12, 1945 to January 20, 1953

Harry S. Truman was the 33rd US President. He became President upon the death of President Roosevelt because Truman was serving at the time as Vice President. Truman later ran for the office in 1948. He was an underdog to win the presidency in that election year to the Republican Governor of the State of New York. Truman was famous for the quote of "The buck stops here".
