== == == == == == * It is a matter for debate. * In 1553 Queen Mary I (Bloody Mary) became the first reigning Queen of England. * Lady Jane Grey * Mary Tudor * Queen Jane was the first queen reigned 1553 for 14 days and was executed and buried at the tower of London * Queen Jane Reigned 14 days. Executed at The Tower aged 17. Buried at Tower of London was the first queen of England 1533.

* The first queen to rule over England was Empress Matilda, also known as Matilda of England or Maude. She was the daughter and heir of King Henry I of England. Matilda and her younger brother, William Adelin, were the only legitimate children of King Henry. Her brother died young, leaving Matilda as the last heir from the paternal line of her grandfather William the Conqueror. Matilda was the first female ruler of the Kingdom of England. However the length of her effective rule was quite brief - a few months in 1141 - and she was never crowned and failed to consolidate her rule (legally and politically). Because of this she is normally excluded from lists of English monarchs.

* Mary I (Mary Tudor), was undisputed Queen of England and Queen of Ireland from 19 July 1553 until her death in 1558. * The first Queen of England was Boadicea, though only in the sense that she was the first woman to hold the title "Queen", as she was not the monarch of the entire British Isles.

* The first queen of England was Mary I (1516 - 1558). She was the only child of Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon. She is known for restoring England to Roman Catholicism. During her rule. She had about 300 dissenters executed in the Marian Persecutions, and by doing so earned her nickname "Bloody Mary".
