That called the Battle of Abukir, fought from July 25 through August 2, 1799, in which Napoleon destroyed a Turkish army led by Mustafa IV. The third one, called also Battle of Abukir, fought on March 8, 1801, between a British force of 5,000 men under General Randolph Abercrombie who forced to retreat a French Army of 2,000 under General Louis Friant . At that time Napoleon had already left Egypt and was ruling France as First Consul.
