Nicholas II was czar of Russia during the War. However, after the stir that the Russian Revolution caused, the Duma forced him to step down in March of 1917. He was eventually killed in July of 1918 along with the rest of his family. It was the next ruler, communist dictator V.I Lenin that ended Russia's involvement in WW1 with the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk which was humilitiating but at least ended the fighting.

∙ 12y agoDuring WW2 it was Joseph Stalin, he was initially to side with Adolf Hitler, but Germany invaded Russia mid-war, ultimately this led to the downfall off Hitler alongside other factors.
