well, no one really invented it.. The Indian's just killed pigs then roasted it. So it wont be raw. So some hunters tried it and they thought it would be better to use thin slices. hope this helped!

There's no way to know who first ate bacon. People have eaten all parts of animals, raw and cooked, since long before recorded history.

Who ate the first bacon, on the other hand, would have been the first people to eat that particular part of a pig when the word 'bacon' came into the English language early in the fourteenth century with the meaning, 'a cut of pork, salted, dried or smoked'; we don't know who they were, either.

Probably Denmark as they consume the most pork in the world (per head) and bacon is very popular there.
