Jesus, because he was the Son of God and he died to save all of humanity Opinion...without any doubt, the greatest person who ever walked this earth is Jesus the Christ, our Lord and only savior of mankind. Without Him scripture is meaningless because everything in scripture points to Him.

Jesus is the most important person in The Bible, but even if you excluse Jesus because He is God there is still many famous or recognized people in the bible. Some of the most famous or recognized names in the Old Testament include: Abraham, Moses, Noah, Job, Lot, Solomon, David, Jacob/Israel, Joseph, Daniel, and Ruth. In the New Testament there is: Joseph, Mary, John, Mark, Luke, Matthew, James, David, Martha, Lazarus, and Paul.

The bible has no characters, its not a play or a script or a novel. That idea is one proposed by the believers in philosopha doctrine and their continual antithetical war against the bible. They often refer to the bible as a literary work, which is simply and outlandish lie they purposed. The ironic part of this confabulation of the philosopha, is they often refer to biblical text, because its the only accurate historical document in the possession of men.

The bible is:

a chronicle of factual historical events, including factual persons

a presentation of law (expectations) and punishment for usurping law (expectations)

a provision of Considerations and Examples (a guide book)

an explanation of the past, the present, and the future

an explanation of our Fathers plan for his children, their relationship, and how that includes each soul.

Of all the texts chosen to be included in what is now coined "the bible" only Ester is fictional. Ester who was supposed to be a great person during the captivity of Judah in Babylon, is never mentioned by Daniel. There are accounts in the apocrypha which bear the same scrutiny, which is why the apocrypha stands alone until today, as a separate manuscript. Its assumed these manuscripts may have been written much later, perhaps in Alexandra, or perhaps by the Scribes of the temple who were attempting to deceive Christians.

They are clearly noted in the pages of Scripture with 'the God' or the Father as most important, the Word who became Jesus, the Christ next in order and the righteous 'saints' of God with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob/Israel, and Joseph most notable.
