The last married pope was Pope Adrian II (867-872). There have been 39 legitimate popes who were married, starting with St. Peter. There has even been one pope whose son later also became a pope. Pope Hormisdas (514-523) was the proud father of Pope Silverius (536-538).

The last Italian pope so far was Pope John Paul I.

Born Albino Luciani in Bellunom, Italy in 1912, he was elected pope on 26 August, 1978. He reigned for only 33 days before dying on 28 September, 1978 - one of the shortest pontificates in history.

John Paul I (October 17, 1912 - September 28, 1978), whose papacy only lasted from August 26 to September 28, 1978, is the name of the last Italian-born pope. He has been followed by three more popes, of whom the current is Pope Francis (born December 17, 1936), whose papacy began on March 13, 2013 and whose birth took place in Argentina to parents of Italian ancestry.

I do not understand your question. If you are referring to Pope Benedict XVI, he is doing fine in his retirement as of March 2013.
