Chimalpopoca: 1417-1427. Guided early construction of the city, accomplished a number of local conquests "Smoking Shield".
Itzcoatl: 1428-1440. Formed a coalition with other lakeside people against the Tepanecs, brought an end to the Tepanec Domination of the basin of Mexico by sacking the city of Azcapotzalco, founded the empire of the Triple Alliance "Obsidan Serpent".
Moctezuma ilhuicamina: 1440-1469. Established the Aztecs' victorious military program, greatly expanded Aztec empire "Angry Lord, Archer in the Sky".
Axayacatl: 1469-1481. Continued to expand the Aztec empire, lost to the fierce Tarascans of Michoacan "Water Face".
Tizoc: 1481-1486. Was relatively weak and... well... a coward in battle. His life was short and his deeds few. His principal achievement being to initiate a major renovation and expansion of the Templo Mayor complex "Chalk Leg".
Ahuitzotl: 1486-1502. Was a fierce warrior, rebuilt the Great Temple, sacrificed 20,000 to 80,000 victims at temple's opening ceremony, empire stretched from coast to coast "Water Beast".
Moctezuma Xocoyotzin: 1502-1520. Last great Aztec ruler, lead many successful military campaigns, died during Spanish Conquest "Angry Lord, The Younger".
Cuithahuac: 1520. Ruled after Moctezuma the Younger and died 80 days later of smallpox.
Cuautemoc: 1520-1525. Spanish destroy the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, Aztec empire ends, Cuauhtemoc hung by Cortes' people.
