Stephen was the first the first follower of Christ to be killed. Saul, who was later converted was present at the stoning of Stephen and The Bible say's he was consenting and held their coats while they stoned him. He was also the first Christian martyr as he was stoned to death for preaching the Gospel. Saul of Tarsus, later known as Saint Paul, was present at the stoning and approved of it.
