Little John, per the book, Robin Hood and His Merry Men, was 7ft tall. "A head taller than Robin, standing a full seven feet". Prolly one of the biggest merry men, definitely the strongest, Little John was Robin's main man.

Sir Hiss was not in any Robin Hood book. Sir Hiss was created by Disney for their animated version of Robin Hood.
In the movie, Merry gives Pippin the last of the Longbottom Leaf they salvaged from Isengard. This is contrary to the book because Merry actually gives the last of his to Saruman. In the book, there is no exchange.
