Many believe that George Washington was the greatest U.S. president because he led the country to its independence. Some also name Abraham Lincoln because he preserved the unity of the Republic during the country's Civil War. Others name Franklin Roosevelt because of his sweeping social initiatives known as the "New Deal." However, there are others who think that these initiatives expanded the scope of the government beyond what the Founding Fathers ever intended. Equally controversial is Ronal Reagan, who is credited with turning the country from the "malaise" of the Carter years to a feeling of confidence, patriotism and pride. He is also credited with ending the Cold War and is often quoted in the phrase: "Mr. Gorbachav, tear down this wall!" Who is the greatest president? Like many questions, the answer may be: "It depends."
Opinion is divided between two possibilities on who is the most famous President, if you ignore the most recent two or three, who are widely known simply because they were the most recent Presidents.
obviously this is a very difficult and subjective question, but George Washington gets my vote, as he was instrumental in defining the role of the president and preserving the union at a time where we were threatened from all angles. thanks to Washington and his strong policies and sound judgment, we were able to avoid the instability that many other countries faced when they attempted to gain their independence.
Abraham lincon or George Washington probably
George Washington because without him we most likely would not have a good country.
It's hard to say. In more modern context, I would say Kennedy was the most famous president.
Determining the most successful president of all time would be difficult. However, Franklin Roosevelt spent the most time in the office being elected to it four times.
