The Central Powers had included Germany and Austria-Hungary, which had later included Italy in what would be known as the Triple Alliance. In May of 1915, however, Italy had left the Triple Alliance to join the Triple Entente, which was surprised of Britain, France, and The United States, as well as their subsidiaries. Why it was that Italy had altered it's allegiance to the Triple Alliance was from the fact that it had previously decided to be neutral within the affairs of the Great War. It would seem to be as well from the fact that Austria-Hungary had military forces within the Northern Parts of Italy, causing Italy to have virtually no other choice yet to be with the Triple Alliance in the first place. Once Italy had left the Triple Alliance, the Ottoman Empire (now consisting of mainly Turkey) had involved itself with the Triple Alliance, as seen with Battle of Gallipoli.
