THE AIMS OF THE 'BIG THREE'
BIG THREE:
- Georges Clemenceau, the Prime Minister of France
- Woodrow Wilson, the President of America
- David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of Britain
All three men wanted to stop a war ever happening again, but they did not agree
about how to do this. They wanted different things from the peace, and they did not get on well.
CLEMENCEAU:
- Wanted revenge & punish Germany
- Make Germany pay for the damage they had done
- Weaken Germany so that France wouldn't be invaded again
WILSON:
- Wanted to make the world safe
- Fair peace
- 1918: Published 'Fourteen Points' saying what he wanted
- LoN (League of Nations) - Where countries could sort out their problems without war
- Promised self-determination for the peoples of Eastern Europe
GEORGE:
- Wanted 'justice' but not 'revenge'
- Peace shouldn't be harsh (as it would cause another war in a few years time)
-'Halfway point' (compramise) between Clemenceuaand Wilson
- He ALSO wanted to expand the British Empire, maintain British control of the seas, and increase Britain's trade.

The three principal aims of tort law are to compensate individuals for harm done to them by the actions of others, to deter wrongful conduct by imposing liability on wrongdoers, and to restore the injured party as closely as possible to the position they were in before the tort occurred.
Places don't have motives. People do and they usually have many motives which generally lie behind or, are the motives for, tasks. For example, motives for going to work may be to earn money, to care for my family, to get a break from my family, to meet my friends and so on. I suppose a country may be said to have many motives roughly correlating to the stated aims of its government but this is far too narrow a meaning, methinks.
Activation, persistence, and intensity.
