Here is an example of militarism in World War 2. The Nazis were a militaristic party that ruled their nation with military style rule, not free democratic rule. Even the leader of the nation wore uniforms and all his leaders were in the military. Another example is in Japan where the entire society is formed around a military concept of being warriors and of worshiping their Emperor, who also often wore the uniform of the military. Their boys were trained from the time they are nine years old to be warriors and to think like warriors. With militarism it is prevailing concept and force that rules a nation and their culture. The Spartans in ancient history were an example of a society that revolved around militarism and warfare.

There are at least four things associated with the rise of mounted warriors on the battlefield:* invention of the stirrup;* armour for horses in Medieval days;* the mounted warriors (soldiers) had better weapons then ever before; and* Mounted horsemen were given cavalry battle formation status. They were organized into a separate fighting force from the infantry.ANS 2 - All the above are excellent points. but to me One thing is missing -- If you are lightly armed infantryman, there is nothng quite so terrifying as a group of armoured men on large horses thundering directly at you. British Heavy Cavalry used this effect with great success.
