The Reds, the Whites and the Greens were the three opposing forces in the Russian Civil War.

The Reds were the Bolsheviks (later called Communists) and their supporters under Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky.

The Whites were forces that were anti-Bolshevik but with different objectives in mind. Some wanted to restore the monarchy. Some wanted to impose a democratic constitutional government. Some wanted to impose a military Dictatorship.

The Greens were anarchists, but not in the sense of having a lawless society. They just wanted no government at all so they could be left to themselves and live in peace with no oppressing government over them at all.

In fact one should add the troops originating from 14 countries at least. One should read Siberian adventure, from general William S. Graves who was the chief of the US expeditionnary corpse.
