Its funny that a 30 pounder can take on a 100 pounder in a fight but it looks true. Honey Badgers are nasty fighters and most tough predators like Hyenas, leopards, and tigers avoid HB confrontations. HBs have very tough skin and would require the Hyena to put in alot of effort to penetrate , leaving it open to a nasty exchange by the HB. The skin is tough and flexible so that even if it was bitten from behind the HB can still turn its head to get you. Young inexperienced predators learn this the hard way when they mistake a little HB as easy dinner. There is a YouTube clip of a leopard killing an old slow blind HB and it literally took hrs for that to happen. There is a published fight between a lion and a HB which ended in a draw. The mother lioness was desperate for food and attacked the HB. Both suffered nasty wounds with the Lioness eventually let go of its grip , resulting in both going their seperate ways. The HB was later seen resting , bleeding from his head. While the lion had slashes all over her body.

So to answer your question there is no clear winner. Both species respect each other enough to get out of a fight if possible. All I am saying is documented and not based on favortism,, just look it up.

Hyena. Hyena is like a coyote. Badger is like a groundhog. That question is like asking, "Who would win a fight between a mouse and a rhino?"

Actualy. It would take a hyena a serious reason to confront a badger. Hyena are roughly 3 feet at the shoulder and around 4 feet long excluding tail. and weigh around 30-50 lbs. Hyena's are cowards, and would prefer scavaging to conflict.

Badgers are uauly a foot to a foot and a half at the shoulder, and are usually 2 feet long. Badgers have a sleek body which assists them in combat (the reason a badger would kill a wolverine, because of its ability to get under its apponents guard and go for the throat. Bagers usually weigh up to 15-20 pounds.

Yes the hyena is bigger but the Badger is deffinetly more savage.

So to put to reason a Badger and A hyena fought lets say the Hyena was trying to eat Bagger pup.The Badger would be hard put, but using its ferocity and its technique of getting under the other animal's guard Id have to say the Bager would win 80% of the time.

,Hyeas are larger than leopards. But the leopard has more endorance, while the hyena has stamina.Alone,I think the leopard would win because it has sharper claws than the hyena, and is more aggresive, or if the hyena is spotted, and really wanted to fight, the hyena would win if the fight was one on one. A male leopard is smaller than a striped hyena, which is the smallest of the hyenas, but both animals are affraid of geting injured, so the hyena would run away first. Dogs are not built to fight 1 on 1, cats are, thats why dogs hunt in packs, but like i said, if it really wanted to, the hyena would win.

surprisingly enough the gaboon viper would actually win. Even though the honey badger has developed somewhat of an immunity to cobra bites and most viper bites gaboon vipers have venom that alot of vipers in Africa don't have. They have a hemotoxin which causes blood cell damage that can cause organ failure including that of the heart, blood clotting ect, and a neurotoxin. Although it is the hemotoxin that does the job because honey badgers don't have an immunity to it. They are immune to neurotoxins and cardiotoxins. As well as the type of venom the combined speed, length of fang, and venom yield gives the gaboon viper its edge. After the bite the gaboon viper can get away because the badger dies or gets knocked out very quickly. I'm not entirely sure how quickly, but it is quick enough for the gaboon viper to not be harmed and get away.

A single hyena has almost no hope against a lion, though those jaws can pack a powerful bite, since they are stronger than a lion's. A pack of hyenas against a pride of lions, there have been fights of such confrontations recorded on video, but it's mostly fights over food and territory and they usually do not end in deaths. But a pack of hyenas against a lone lion would get pretty hairy, probably resulting in the lion getting seriously injured or worse.
