Battles fought in New Jersey included the Battle of Princeton and the Battle of Trenton. The latter was fought after and as a result of Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware River.

Trenton and Princeton were major cities in New Jersey.
Princeton and Trenton are both somewhat major cities in central New Jersey. Trenton is the capital of NJ and is home to the Trenton Thunder AA baseball team. Princeton is a 30-min. car ride away, featuring Princeton University and Drumthwacket, the governor's mansion. Both were home to Revolutionary War battles in which the US won. I highly recommend visiting Princeton for one reason or another.

Princeton is located in the town of Princeton, New Jersey, in Central Jersey. This is in the region called Central New Jersey, and is about 10 miles north-northeast of Trenton. Generally speaking it can also be said it is located more easterly than other NJ universities.
