metal sonic definatly metal sonic is designed to be better than sonic while bass is designed to be exactly like megaman. so metal sonic wins and he's as fast as sonic so bass wouldn't be able to touch him. and metal overlord is one of metal sonic's strongest forms. and it took team super sonic to beat him. so metal sonic. period.

Fernandez makes good bass guitars to play metal music.
For punk rock, I would get a Fender P-Bass. The sound has attitude, which is very good for punk rock. And for metal, I would get a Stingray. Stingrays have a solid, powerful sound. An alternative for a metal bass besides Stingray is a Warwick, they sound quite like the Stingray, except they're not as good for bass rifts and popping. Hope I helped. Keep on playing. :)
personally, I hate any fender bass, but I would say the P-Bass

I would highly recommend a Fender or Gibson bass guitar.
A bass-guitar and an electric bass guitar is the same thing, unless you want to get technical and call it an acoustic bass guitar and an electric, whereas your answer would be electric (for a rock/alt./punk/metal band) ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on the tuning. If you are playing on standard E up to drop C tuning, I would suggest a four strings bass, any lower tuning from standard C to A is more fitted for a five string bass.
Bass guitar is quite literally fundamental. The bass guitar, while a stringed instrument, is considered a part of the rhythm section. The bass is locked with the drums, and provides a solid sonic foundation for melodic instruments to be layered on top.
