Rabbi Sha'ul of Tarsus, also known as Saint Paulos or Paul. he was an israelite Jew.
His Hebrew name was Saul, but he reverted to his Greek name of Paul after his conversion to Christ on the road to Damascus. Born in Tarsus, he was a tent-maker by trade, but was also a Pharisee, and expert in the Jewish law. Owning Dual Citizenship (both a Jew and a Roman citizen), he was offered execution by beheading by sword rather than crucifixion, and his remains are interred in the basilica of Paul on the outskirts of Rome.
Many New Testament books were written by St. Paul, including Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, Timothy, Titus, and Philemon.
Paul wrote 13 or 14, books in the New Testament. Some believe that he wrote the book of Hebrews. Thus the possible 14. Hebrews has many stylistic similarities to Paul's other works. Moses, however, in his five Old Testament books, wrote more words than any other author.
