The authorship of the book of Job is probably the most uncertain of any in The Bible. Not only can we not determine who wrote it, but we don't even know when it was written exactly, although from the lack of mention of any of the important Biblical figures, it may well have dated way before Moses or even Abraham.
The Jews themselves, however, never questioned its authenticity as an inspired work, so it would appear that whover first presented it, he or she was well respected and regarded as inspired by God, even though his or her identity is now lost to us.
Not even the book itself mentions its author, but scholars think that the most likely candidates are Job, Elihu, Moses or Solomon, but these names are pure comjecture. The truth is, despite the book itself being a masterpiece of literary material on suffering, and why suffering exists, we just don't know for certain who wrote it.
