Why 15 min. after i start driving my 1997 Intrepid the transsmission will not shift gears but when i shut the car off and then on again the transsmission shift fine for anouther 15 min.?

You need to have the trans computer checked for codes to know what the possible causes could be.

I'd be suspicious of the starter. I don't THINK an intrepid has a separate starter solenoid, if it does, that could be it too.

This part must be defective on this year intrepid because I've this part replaced twice this year and this last time it actually blew entirely apart leaving only the bleeder screw with a small piece of plastic. My advice is to have dodge repair it because it will most likely break again
