It has a dead cell. I know it is only 2 years old but it happens especially if that battery was run completely down which shortens the life. I suggest you purchase a different brand as this brand was not very dependable. My answer is assuming nothing is on pulling power from the battery when the car is just sitting. Have the battery checked to make sure it is actually defective. Any auto parts store will check it for you. It has to be fully charged in order for it to be checked.
30 year old battery?? I have never heard of a battery lasting this long. This has to be a record of some sort. I would contact the battery manufacture as they may want this battery and give you a new one for it. Anyway if the battery will not hold a charge it has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.
A battery can last from 1 year to many years. You change it when it no longer will start the car or when it no longer will hold a charge.
Over time, you may notice that your battery doesn't hold a charge as long as it used to. This may be caused by frequent charges/drains or infrequent battery use. It is recommended that you "condition" your battery a few times a year to get the most out of it. To do this, simply charge your battery to the fullest and then disconnect the AC plug.

It varies battery to battery. Age being the real factor. A new battery could go for months and still hold a charge, several year old one might be 3-4 days to a week.

According to Energizer, they claim that their rechargeable AA batteries will hold their charge for up to 1 year. How long a battery lasts is also dependant on how much it is used.
You need to charge the battery with a battery charger.
Any where from year to five year depend on how bad victim was beating
A short in the car's electrical system, a bad alternator OR a bad battery.
The battery of the s80 including 2006 model year, is in the trunk. You can use any automatic 12v charger.
The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first. One charge cycle is a period of use from fully charged, to fully discharged, and fully recharged again. Use a two to three year life expectancy for batteries that do not run through complete charge cycles. Rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries have a limited life and will gradually lose their capacity to hold a charge. This loss of capacity (aging) is irreversible. As the battery loses capacity, the length of time it will power the product (run time) decreases.
