The engine idle may be set to low to compensate for the AC compressor starting up. Rev the engine a few times to see if it stops. If it doesn't, there may be a problem with the AC temperature signal or motor mount.

Your Car shakes when AC is on what could it be?

Is it a 4 cylinder? Sometimes a 4 cylinder engine will shake a little extra when the AC is running and it's at an idle. You might be able to step up the idle a little extra but 4 cylinder engines are notorious for shaking when the AC is running.

What can cause the car to stall when running the ac?

An engine usually has a higher idle speed when the ac is running. If the high speed idle does not operate then the ac will cause the engine to stall.

Does bad spake plugs make car shake in idle and with ac on?

Yes they can. It can also be a vacuum leak, or defective idle control valve.

When AC is on causes the car to go why is this?

Idle compenstorVehicles hve an idle copensator that speeds up the engine when the ac is turned on to ring the rpm back up to the proper idle speed, if yours is too fast then t needs to be adjsted.

What does a Idle speed control solenoid do?

The idle speed control solenoid controls the idle of the engine when the air conditioning is engaged. Since the ac pump draws down the engine idle the solenoid increase the idle when the ac is on.

Why does car shake with ac on?

Vehicles have compensation systems to increase the rpm when the AC is loading the engine, and slowing it down. Newer cars idle speed often isn't adjustable, so the problem's in the ECM (computer) or a sensor. With an older vehicle, simply bump up the idle speed a little. Usually a 1/8 or so, turn on the adjusting screw will do it.

What causes Altima stalls at idle with the ac running?

When the ac is running the idle should be raised to compensate for the extra load. If the idle isn't rising then the car will cut off.

Why would your idle go down when im at a stop sign your car is a Mazda 2000 protoge?

if the ac was on it could lower the idle down the ac takes about 12 horse power to run + As long as the transmission is in "Drive," it provides excess strain to the engine system and at a stop will keep the engine idle a couple hundred RPM lower than in "Park" or "Neutral."

Why does Car shake when started o and ac is on?

Usually when this happens to my car, its just because the RPM is lower than normal. Your car isn't warmed up (probably worse because it's getting cold out) and your AC is taking power that would go to your engine. This is what i have experienced with my car.

Why would 92 corolla stall out when i turn on the air condiotioner and what do i need to fix it?

Give the engine some extra fuel and see what happens when you turn on the AC. If there is still a problem then the compressor or AC clutch could be bad. If its ok then the fast idle needs to be looked at to find out why the car does not idle up when the AC is on.

When ac turned on 1995 suzuki sidekick idle drops wont idle up turn ac off engine returns to normal idle?

The A/C idle compensator solenoid is not functioning. This should be located next to the carb.

Why does car shake when ac is on?

The engine management system may not be adjusting for the extra load of the A/C. Can also be the A/C compressor is seizing up. Have this looked at by a professional.
