Why should 12 or 13 year olds be expected to lose interest in cartoons?
Mostly because of the real shows that are on(That 70s show, Two and a half men, Everybody loves raymond, etc). 12 or 13 year olds Shouldn't have to lose interest in cartoons but if that's the only thing they watch, they have to increase their horizons a bit because most kids are in high school at that age and expect them to behave their age. Otherwise, they will have juvenile brains and will be put in a special needs program.
