Because they're both falling through air, and the leaf has to slip and slide through
the air.
If you drop a leaf and an apple in a tube with no air inside ... and also add a Bowling ball,
a parachute, a rock, and a feather if you want to ... they all fall at the same rate, and
hit the bottom at the same time.
leaf
The leaf fell to the ground due to the affects of gravity.
The Kinetic energy (K) is at the least when the leaf is still attached to the tree; it's Potential energy (U) is at its greatest. As the leaf falls, its K increases as its U decreases. This continues to happen until the leaf can no longer move. This will happen when something like the Earth (a large object with much more mass and much more energy) pushes against it. The Earth has more energy so the leaf comes to a stop on its surface.
The mass is irrelevant, the only factor that effects how fast anything falls on earth is air resistance. The feathers obviously have more air resistance than the rocks and so the rocks will fall faster. If this was done in a vacuum however one gram of feathers would fall at the same rate as a tone of rocks.
air resistance, on the moon they did an experiment where they dropped a hammer and a feather at the same height and time and they hit the ground at the same time
The leaf does not fall straight down. It falls slowly because of air resistance. The air provides upward force. The upward force on the apple is negligible.
An apple leaf midge is a creature which is a pest to apple trees, Latin name Dasineura mali.
Water cannot reach inside of a leaf it hydrates it.
The leaves of the custard apple has pinnately reticulate venation.
In woodapple the leaf is compound. It is generally trifoliate.
DUHHH!!!!![:
leaf
it depends how long the lengnth of a leaf is. The longer its life time the longer it will grow.it will also depend on the type of leaf.
Apple trees make their food in the leaf cells.
