Why after you set the heater temp to higher on the 1999 Grand Prix GTP it works for a while then quit working you noticed that the outsideinside temp reading are not working?

My car's doing the same thing. I ran accross something that said it is due to the sensor located in the front bumper, retails for about $30. I've seen the sensor while under the car and looks to be easy to get to. I never got around to changing it, so I'm not sure if this would actually fix the problem. Hope this helps.
