Why it started has never been mentioned but the Daleks want to wipe out every other living thing in the universe so they wouldn't really need to have a reason to go to war.

How does the Doctor obtain the TARDIS?

He 'borrowed' it from the Time Lords. Originally, Time Lords did not interfere with other goings-on around the universe, but sat and watched, unless something needed to be done, in which case they got the Doctor to do the dirty work. They lent him the TARDIS to use to do so in. However, all of the Time Lords but the Doctor and the Master were killed along with their home planet Gallifrey, in the deadly Time War against the evil Daleks. The Doctor was devastated by the consequences of the war, but kept the TARDIS to hop around time and space and carry on righting wrongs.

Are daleks real?

No. Dalek are a fictonal character in doctor who. But they are cool However, when it comes to quantum physics and the Multi-verse theory, there is a theory of endless possibilities. And the imagination can make those possibilities happen. In other words, if it can be imagined, in some universe out there, it exist. So the Daleks, in theory, can be real but tied to their own universe. Since it is impossible for us to travel though universes, we are most likely safe. However, the Daleks are an incredibly intelligent and aggressive species. Not to mention they are considered the master race in their universe since they defeated the Time Lords at the end of the Last Great Time War. It is possible for the Daleks, being as advanced as they are, to possibly be able to find a way to travel between universes and exterminate us all. But then again what do I know?

Who destroyed the Doctor's planet?

It was called "The Time War". It was the war between the Time Lords and the Daleks, "for the sake of all creation". It resulted in the destruction of Gallifrey, leaving only two (known) Time Lords and a small number of Daleks as survivors.

What is the time war on Doctor Who?

On the new series of Doctor Who, the Time War is classified as the conflict between the Time Lords and the Daleks. It spanned across the universe and even across Time itself. The conclusion of this war wiped the Time Lords from history, save for one; the Doctor. The Daleks were supposedly destroyed in the same mysterious ending maneuver, but it is shown throughout the series that at least a few survived.

What was the name of the war between the timelords and the daleks?

It is called, the time war True, and there were several of them, the last and most devastating of which resulted in the extinction of The Time Lords as a race.

I don't understand the dalek classifications. There are dalek emperor supreme dalek renegade dalek imperial dalek davros what are the new Daleks Can someone give me a long answer and explain?

The Supreme Dalek is the ruler of the renagade daleks. The renegade daleks are the daleks that don't obey Davros and the ones who arrested him for crimes against the Daleks in "Revelation of the Daleks". The Emperor is the ruler of the imperial daleks, the ones that were recreated by Davros in "Revelation of the Daleks". In the earlier years of the Daleks, The Daleks are ruled by the Supreme Council, of which the Supreme Dalek Was the head of. This now brings us into the different colours of Daleks. The Red Dalek is the supreme. The Black is the leaders of the warriors and the grey (In the new series, Gold) are the ordinary Daleks. The Daleks in "Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways" Are Imperial Daleks, because they were lead by the emperor. The Daleks that fought the Time War would've been Imperial Daleks too, because Davros was there as well. It is possible however, that both Dalek factions were fighting, their differences put aside to exterminate the Time Lords. This is never made clear. The Daleks in "The Stolen Earth/Journeys End" Are Renegade Daleks. Davros created them, but they have obviously turned against him, keeping him in a vault. The Cult of Skaro could be either, but most probally Renegade Daleks because the Doctor said that he thought they were just a legend, which implies that they are old. Older then the Imperial Daleks. But they didn't like the fact that Rose had destryed the Emperor, and the Doctor said that they were above the emperor. So who knows? I'd also like to add that Dalek Caan rescued Davros, so the Cult of Skaro could be Imperial Daleks. And the Doctor said in "Daleks in Mahatten/Evolution of the Daleks" that they were created by the Emperor, so they have to be Imperial Daleks. Some evidence that the Daleks might have re-united in the Time War is that all Daleks are now standerdly gold, like the Imperial Daleks were White and Gold. However in the episodes "Evil of the Daleks" , "Day of the Daleks" and "Death to the Daleks" , there was no set colour to the daleks, they were all sorts of colours and definitely not Grey or White & Gold. And that was before the Daleks were divided into the 'Renegade' and 'Imperial' factions and yet there is a Dalek Emeror in "Evil of the Daleks". How can this be? Could this be that due to the daleks being unified, there was no need for 'uniforms'. But this still doesn't explain the Emperor Dalek being there. the new Daleks' rank is determined by their colour. white= supreme, orange= scientist, yellow= eternal, red= drone, blue=strategist

How could the daleks have fought in the last great time war when they were destroyed in remembrance of the daleks and why is there not one episode of the last great time war in dr who?

If you think about it, there have been a lot of Doctor Who episodes in which the daleks seem to be wiped out, but are shown in other episodes as not having been destroyed. Therefore enough Daleks must have survived. Also, in the Doctor Who version of the 22nd Century, after the Dalek wars between the daleks and earth, all the Daleks suddenly dissapeared. They in truth had gone to fight the time war against the Time Lords. They were then almost all destroyed. The reason there are no episodes of Doctor Who set in the time war is that when the show returned Russell T. davies wanted to picture the Doctor as the last survivor of his race, and to keep the events of the Time War a mystery, and give little hints to some of the things hat happened in the Time War.

Why do the daleks keep escaping the time war but the time lords don't?

The Daleks were a widespread empire consisting of billions of individuals, only a mere handful escaped each time, knocked into different time periods by the conflict, but mostly able to rebuild their race on arrival. The Time Lords on the other hand were much fewer, and more insular, sharing the same fate as each other. As far as escaping the time war goes, it has been shown that both dalek and time lord alike have been able escape from it, in different ways. One plot point was that things from inside it can escape under some circumstances - the 'lock' really only prevented outside interference. Daleks, - The single dalek in 'Dalek' was a survivor from the Time War. - Dalek Emperor's ship escaped it. - The Cult of Skaro used a Void Ship to escape it. - Dalek Caan entered and exited the time war, bringing the dalek creator, Davros (A Kaled). Note - The three 'Ironside' Daleks from 'Victory of the Daleks) did not escape the Time War. They were survivors from the destruction at the Medusa Cascade. Time Lords, - The Doctor didn't technically escape it, more like ended it. - The Master was resurrected during it but fled from it. He used the chameleon arch to become a human and hid at the end of the universe. - The Time Lords themselves engineered a plan by which Gallifrey itself would be rescued from the time war. It was thwarted by the Doctor and the Master. The 'rules' of time are constantly being rewritten or excepted by later episodes, which means it's possible another time lord can appear later on, meanwhile the Daleks have re-established themselves as a democracy of all things, though time will tell if the new paradigm are as aggressive as the past versions.

Who is The Doctor and why does he hate his planet?

There was a Great Time War between 2 races. The Time lords and the Daleks. The war lasted for thousands of years before The War Doctor (400 years younger than matt smith's doctor) decided to detonate The Moment. The Moment is a weapon of mass destruction created by the Time lords. And the Doctor used it to end the Time War. Before he was consumed by The Moment's power, he stole one of the timeships from the Time lords to flee his planet, Gallifrey. Wiping out the Time lords and nearly the Daleks. The Doctor never hated his planet, but destroyed the Planet in hopes of saving more lives in the process. Now he is the last of the Time lords. Travelling through Time and relative dimensions in space... Alone. He didn't want to see the same fate of other worlds, so he swore to defeat evil forces from harming innocent people and changing history. The Time lords had a power, called "Regeneration" which allowed them to cheat death by changing their appearance, gender, and voice. The reason his people didn't survive is because it all happened too fast for them to regenerate.

How has davros the creator of the daleks returned every time?

Time manipulation, utilised either by himself or by The Daleks. The Doctor isn't the only person who can travel in time- The Daleks and Davros are able to use 'Emergency Temporal Shift' as a last-resort escapemechnism. However, it is dangerous for The Daleks to use this device, as without the protection of a time machine like the TARDIS, a flight through the space / time continuum can send them insane. This is what happened to Dalek Caan.
